Master theses in close cooperation with Parma University, Italy
11/02/2015Dear students,
We offer master theses in close cooperation with the Parma University in Italy. The success of a project depends, mostly, on the ability to create multi-skilled teams and to assign them to project’s tasks, without creating multi-tasking and over-allocation. In this respect, the Multi-skilled Work Force Scheduling Problem has attracted a great interest, both for academicals and practitioners. Objectives in the course of the master theses are i) the development of heuristics and / or linear programming models for scheduling of multi-skilled resources and ii) testing and simulation of the developed models.
Required skills for the master theses are a basic level of knowledge in operations research and good programming skills. Knowledge of Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), Lingo and Microsoft Project are not required, but recommended.
Please contact Matthias Hauser for further information.
