Grade conversion for studies completed abroad
The Bavarian formula provides assistance with the conversion of graded work completed abroad. This is merely a guide and the results are in no way binding.
How the grade conversion works
Please apply the following formula with the best grade (maximum grade) and the lowest passing grade in your university's grading system as well as your current overall grade. The calculated result will show you the corresponding grade in the German system with the maximum grade of 1.0 and the lowest passing grade of 4.0.
Please note: Due to the large number of international assessment and grading systems, the following conversion is only an initial guide. The results are in no way binding!
with
X = grade sought
N max = upper benchmark (best grade in your university's grading system)
N min = lower benchmark (worst passing grade in your university's grading system)
