Information about the study programme

Before starting your studies...

... you have the opportunity to take part in one of our Bachelor Orientation Tutorials (BOT). There you will receive valuable insights and information about the Bachelor's degree programme at the Faculty of Business, Economics and Informatics before the start of the semester.


The aim is to deal with topics, questions and problems that experience has shown to occur particularly at the beginning of the degree programme and thus optimally prepare students for the start of their studies.

During your degree programme

In the first three semesters, you will learn the essential methodological and application skills in the fields of data science and programming. You will also gain a solid insight into the various fields of economics and can use this as a basis for deciding which specialisations you would like to pursue in the next phase.

From the fourth semester onwards, you can specialise in two of four majors in business and economics. You can also work on real issues from business practice in the Applied Data Science Project.

A semester abroad...

... is guaranteed, but not mandatory! The 5th and 6th semesters are particularly suitable for a stay abroad. You can choose from a large number of different partner universities and have the courses you take abroad credited to your degree programme.

In the compulsory elective area, you can choose from two of our 4 specialisations

  • Marketing & Innovation (MAIN) 
  • Finance & Accounting (FACT)
  • IT & Operations (ITOP) 
  • Economics (ECON)

and thus pursue your personal preferences.

How to get your study place

Prerequisites:

Admission requirement is a university entrance qualification (e.g. Abitur, FOS/BOS 13)
Please note: There are special regulations for Germans with foreign educational certificates or prospective students with foreign citizenship and a foreign university entrance qualification. In this case, the application deadline is 15 July!

Enrolment:

The degree programme is admission-free without NC, i.e. from ~ 20 July you can simply enrol online for the start of the winter semester.
If you have any questions about enrolment, the staff at the Student Affairs will be happy to help you.

FAQ's - Bachelor Digital Business & Data Science (B.Sc.) at the University of Würzburg

The bachelor's program Digital Business and Data Science is characterized by a stronger focus on digital and data-driven business systems. Students learn important aspects of data science & machine learning algorithms, optimization & decision support, data management, programming, and econometrics in the first semesters.

The subject is open admission, i.e. anyone can enroll in the program regardless of their Abitur grade. In the first two semesters, students must show whether they are up to the demanding course of study. Those who are sure - "Business, that's my thing." - their performance at school will not stand in their way.

If you want to get involved besides your studies, the student organizations such as the student initiative ADF WiWi e.V., the student council, AISEC or the student stock exchange forum as well as working as a student assistant or tutor offer you the opportunity to actively participate in a lively campus.

The successful completion of the Bachelor's programme in Digital Business & Data Science qualifies you in particular for the following Master's programmes at the University of Würzburg:
