This module is designed for advanced undergraduate and graduate students interested in international economics and international management. It provides a unique combination of business management and economics in form of lectures focusing on opportunities, threats and challenges that today's politicians throughout the world are confronted with.

The economic lectures will cover European macroeconomics, climate, trade and European competition policies as well as migration issues within the EU. The business lectures will deal with international financial reporting and taxation, corporate strategies and innovation, global supply chains and digital business processes, as well as human resource management in the wake of the demographic transition in Europe.
Lectures are prepared and presented by professors of the Faculty of Business Management and Economics of the University of Würzburg and partner universities who are all experts in their academic fields.
The course will be held in live per ZOOM, but the sessions will be uploaded on our digital learning platform, so that the students can easily download each slot afterwards and watch it later, e.g. due to time shifts.
After completing the module successfully, students will have gained a basic understanding of major issues which have to be dealt with in the globalized economy.
An online guided tour of the city of Würzburg will give you an idea where we are and where you are warmly welcome to come and study after the pandemic comes to an end. We will also offer you a virtual company visit in order to give you an insight into German business culture.
There are no prerequistes except for a basic knowledge in the fields of business management and economics. The language of instruction is English, thus language proficiency on an advanced Intermediate level (B2) is a prerequisite for participation. You can assess your language skills here (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) in order to get orientation as to your language skills.
Four weeks prior to the Summer Module Course students will receive a course reader in electronic form.
