The final theses are allocated via FLIP: https://flip.wiwi.uni-wuerzburg.de.
At our chair, you write your thesis on various topics in the field of Corporate Finance and related areas.
If you have applied for a thesis, an initial interview will take place about 2 weeks before the desired start of the project in order to find a concrete topic. Your own topic suggestions can be considered here. Once the topic has been definitely determined, the final thesis must be registered within 2 weeks. Otherwise, the right to supervision of the thesis expires. Depending on your thematic preference, please arrange the first interview with the respective chair member.
Prof. Dr. Daniela Lorenz primarily supervises theses on these topics:
- Business Evaluation
- Portfolio Selection und Capital Markets
- Influence of Taxation on Investment- and Finance Determination
Prof. Dr. Leonhard Knoll supervises theses on the following topics:
- Risk management
- Business evaluation
- Corporate governance
Felix Eppler supervises final theses on these topics::
- Empirische Kapitalmarktforschung mit Schwerpunkt Aktien und Derivate
- Risikomanagement mit Schwerpunkt auf Tail Risks und Volatilitätsvorhersagen
- Optionspreistheorie
Moritz Uttscheid is particularly responsible for the following topics:
- Empirical capital market research
- Equity trading strategies with a focus on cum/ex and cum/cum trades
Currently the chair has the possibility to work in cooperation with the

Note on the submission of the thesis: Due to the exemption from § 26 para. 10 ASPO 2015, the thesis must be submitted to the examination office in the following form:
1. copies bound, paginated in written form according to ASPO, the assurance of independent performance integrated in the thesis. In addition, in Bachelor's degree subjects, one copy is to be enclosed in the form of a file in one of the generally accepted, machine-readable and unchangeable file formats on a standard storage medium, which is to be labelled with name and matriculation number; in Master's degree subjects, two copies are required.
or
2. a copy as a file in one of the generally accepted, machine-readable and unchangeable file formats on a standard storage medium (two copies/two storage media are required in Master's degree programmes), which is to be labelled with name and matriculation number. The assurance of independent performance - printed out and signed in the original.
Furthermore, § 26 para. 10 ASPO 2015 remains unaffected.
